This brand new Tesla Model X came to us for our flagship paint correction and coating application. We did a 2-3 step paint correction to remove swirls and wash marks, finish down to a high gloss finish, and then coated the paint with Gtechniq Crystal Serum, our pro grade ceramic coating.
2017 Ford Raptor – Crystal Serum
This black 2017 Ford F150 Raptor came to our Minnesota location looking for paint protection and ease of washing. We decided for maximum repellency and durabilty: Gtechniq Crystal Serum topped with C0 Aerocoat will provide the most dirt repellent action.
The truck was booked for the full weekend, as we learned on the last Raptor (see video) the soft black paint takes time to properly finish down for maximum gloss.
Volvo V60 Polestar
We traveled to sunny California to work on this Volvo V60 Polestar. Volvo only imported 80 of these V60’s to the US, which makes them exceedingly rare!
The car had very few miles, so we performed a light gloss boosting paint correction to make the bright blue stand out further. The paint was then protected with a ceramic coating to help make washing easier (in water restricted CA).
Maserati Quattroporte – Paint Correction + Ceramic Coating
We picked up this 2014 Maserati Quattroporte from Morrie’s Luxury Auto Minneapolis for our top of the line paint correction and ceramic coating package.
We started with a thorough wash and decontamination. Our substrate safe chemicals going to work dissolving tar, sintered iron, and brake dust.

1989 Lamborghini Countach Paint Correction and Coating
We worked on this 1989 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach. The Lambo had just been repainted and the owner was looking to get some durable ceramic paint protection added to protect the new finish.
Most of the work on this car was documented in this video, but here are some pictures further documenting the extent of work.
Unfortunately, as these things go on black cars, there was a lot of polishing and compounding marks still left on the paint that needed to be remedied first. To further complicate matters, the paint was extremely soft. This made it easy to correct, but finishing down to perfection took a significant amount of time and expertise. Here are a few before and after pictures. Continue reading “1989 Lamborghini Countach Paint Correction and Coating”
F10 BMW M5 Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating
This gorgeous Monaco Blue BMW M5 came to our Minneapolis location covered in water etching due to hard water. In some cases, water stains actually penetrate the paint to leave permanent water spots. These require paint correction to fully remove. Continue reading “F10 BMW M5 Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating”
Lamborghini Huracan Spyder – Paint Correction and Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating
This brand new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder arrived in Minneapolis after a cross country drive from California. Although the bug splatter was a great showcase of flying insect diversity, it was also corrosive to the Lamborghini’s new finish, as such it was immediately washed off!
There was the usual assortment of new car defects present. Holograms all over, a few sanding spots here and there. Nothing our paint correction process can’t handle. We usually post our before and after pictures here, but I spent most of the time shooting film, so instead, here is a video:
The car was finished up with Gtechniq Crystal Serum for a long lasting shine and ease of maintenance.

Porsche 993 Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating
Most of this job is captured in the video above, but we did get a few pictures to share (since they are rumored to be the equivalent of 1000 words). Continue reading “Porsche 993 Paint Correction and Ceramic Coating”
Signature Series Tesla Model X – Paint Correction and Coating
This gorgeous dark metallic Tesla Model X arrived a few weeks after it’s delivery for our paint correction and coating package.
We started with a thorough wash and decontamination and went to work removing the swirls and marks that are so easy to spot on dark cars.
A few buffer marks here and there.. Continue reading “Signature Series Tesla Model X – Paint Correction and Coating”
Chrysler 300c Correction + Coating | Cedar Rapids
The Kirkwood Hotel shares eM Detailing’s passion for excellence. It was our pleasure to ensure that their first point of contact with a customer getting picked up from the airport in this Chrysler 300c is just as polished as the rest of the Kirkwood experience.
There were a lot of paint defects present in the soft black paint.

Audi A4 New Car Correction and Ceramic Coating!
We got this brand new Audi A4 in with ~300 miles for Opti Coat Pro Plus treatment, but not before a thorough correction.
A common story was playing itself out here. Car sits on dealer lot for a while, bird poo etches paint, lot washers installs swirls wiping and drying car. Continue reading “Audi A4 New Car Correction and Ceramic Coating!”
Tesla Model X – Paint Correction and Opti Coat Pro+
eM Detailing’s first Tesla Model X, and Minneapolis’ (and Minnesota’s) first Opti Coated Model X.

Bentley Continental GT – Major Paint Correction – Opti Coat Pro Plus.
Timeless elegance.
This gorgeous black Bentley Continental GT needed some significant work to make it stand out among its peers.
This video walk around clearly shows the range of defects: Holograms, swirls, wash marks, sanding marks, haziness, and an overall lack of clarity.
A two to three step correction was started to remove these defects and finish the paint, taking care not to remove excessive amounts of clear coat, or induce unnecessary heating of paint.
Note the fingers of light radiation from a point light source – Holograms.
Holograms reduced after first pass. This hood will then continue to get refined to further improve reflection and clarity, but the major improvement is already visible.

Black Tesla Model S – Opti Coat Pro Plus
This black twin cities Model S came in to our Eagan location at Auto Vault, for a 2 step correction and Opti Coat Pro Plus. This was Tesla #14!
There was extensive haziness and many shallow to intermediate depth scratches. In addition a few sanding marks on the hood and roof, and some buffing marks (holograms) on the trunk lid.
A lot of marring and very superficial scratches are killing the shine on this Black Model S.
Red Tesla Model S – Opti Coat Pro Plus
Unfortunately I did not get any before, or in-process pictures of this Tesla Model S, which only further substantiates the owner’s claim that I swapped his car for a brand new one. Although originally scheduled to work in Chicago, I escaped the snow, oddly enough, by driving to Minneapolis! Sure enough, North of Rochester the snow stopped. As you can see, zero snow here in Eagan!
This car received a 2 step paint correction, Opti Coat Pro Plus, and interior cleaning and Interior Opti Guard.
Also of note, this was Tesla # lucky 13! I haven’t done the greatest job keeping this updated, but there are many more Tesla pictures on the Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/emdetailing/
Enjoy what is becoming my favorite color for the Tesla Model S.

2013 Tesla Model S – Minneapolis – Opti Coat Pro
2013 Tesla Model S – Minneapolis Opti Coat Pro Plus
This red Model S came in for a paint correction and Opti Coat Pro Plus application at our new Minneapolis location in Eagan.
During initial wash, we immediately noticed a very rough texture to the paint. Using a clay towel, we removed red paint overspray from all over the car. The paint was now smooth, and ready for paint correction. A test area on the Tesla’s fender to determined the optimum process. Continue reading “2013 Tesla Model S – Minneapolis – Opti Coat Pro”
2015 Black Porsche Macan S – Paint Correction and Opti Coat Pro Plus
This black 2015 Porsche Macan came to us from Ames, IA for a paint correction and Opti Coat Pro Plus, as well as interior leather and fabric guard. What was supposed to be a routine new car prep, turned into a 2.5 day, 30+ hour detail. The results were absolutely stunning, but we did come across some serious defects, likely courtesy of Stuttgart.
With only 600 miles on the clock, this car wasn’t terribly dirty, but it wasn’t clean by any means. It had endured a bit of rain and a few hundred miles of recent driving, along with a dusting of pollen.
We pretreated the car by spraying on a 1:256 dilution of Optimum No-Rinse. This helps lay down a base layer of lubrication and starts the process of encapsulating dirt and emulsifying oils. We gently cleaned the car in small sections with Optimum No-Rinse. Working on soft black paint is a great way to affirm the safety of the No-Rinse washing method. 2015 Agate Gray Porsche Macan
This 2015 Porsche Macan came to us from Minneapolis for Opti Coat Pro Plus and Interior Opti-Guard for leather and fabric. Although it only had ~500 miles on it, somehow it had acquired many water etch marks which turned this from a routine Opti Coat installation to a 20hr detail.
As always, lets start with the wheels. Our pH balanced wheel cleaner gently dissolves brake dust, turning red in the process. Click any picture to enlarge.
Mercedes Benz ML500
This Mercedes ML500 was part of eM Detailing’s Florida Detail Fest and was in great need of a paint correction!
The soft black paint was riddled with holograms, scuffs, and swirls, and was coated in a film of hard water residue.
Notice the almost pearlescent sheen left by the film of hard water. Continue reading “Mercedes Benz ML500”
1989 Ferrari Mondial Interior and Exterior Detail
Car number three for eM Detailing’s Florida excursion was this 1989 Ferrari Mondial Coupe. The owner was most interested in getting the interior leather a thorough clean and condition. Since we weren’t sure on the condition of the exterior paint ( and there were some very thin spots) we settled on a single stage correction and Opti Coat Pro for exterior shine and protection.
The light colored leather seats were in great shape, just in need of a thorough cleaning. Continue reading “1989 Ferrari Mondial Interior and Exterior Detail”
